One thing I've been trying to do lately is spend a little less time scrolling and a little more time learning. Don't get me wrong—I still end up down random internet rabbit holes at 2 a.m. more often than I'd like to admit. But I've been making an effort to pick up books that help me better understand myself, my relationships, and the way my brain works.
Here are a few books I've recently added to my collection:
The 48 Laws of Power for Women
has been an interesting read so far. It focuses on confidence, influence, boundaries, leadership, and understanding the social dynamics that affect women both personally and professionally. Whether you love books about empowerment or simply enjoy learning how people think, this one has given me a lot to reflect on.
ADHD Focus Friend by Grace Koelma immediately caught my attention because, well... ADHD. If you've ever walked into a room and forgotten why you're there, started six projects at once, or found yourself reorganizing your kitchen instead of doing the task you actually needed to do, you get it. This book offers practical tools and strategies for improving focus, productivity, and working with your brain rather than constantly fighting against it.
Calm the %*@# Down by Sarah Knight is exactly what it sounds like. Equal parts funny and helpful, it takes a realistic approach to anxiety, stress, and overthinking. As someone whose brain occasionally mistakes minor inconveniences for life-threatening emergencies, I appreciate books that can make me laugh while also teaching me something useful.
The Inner Work of Relationships explores communication, emotional awareness, attachment styles, boundaries, and the ways we connect with the people around us. Relationships are complicated enough without bringing our own baggage into them, so I'm always interested in learning how to communicate better and build healthier connections.
Now I need your help.
I'm always looking for new books to add to my ever-growing "I'll definitely read this soon" pile. What self-help books, motivational books, mental health books, relationship books, or ADHD resources have made a difference in your life?
What are you currently reading? What book do you recommend to everyone? What book completely changed the way you think?
Drop your recommendations in the comments. I'd love to hear what you're reading and maybe discover my next favorite book.
Until next time,
Ash
